Sinodun Players

COVID OMICRON MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT

We are part of the ‘See it Safely Campaign, part of the Society of London Theatre and UK Theatre’.

Unlike some things in the pantomime, Covid is not yet behind us.  Therefore,
the Sinodun Players at The Corn Exchange Wallingford have just installed new
technology to improve the safety and comfort of their audience in the battle
against Covid and the new Omicron variant.

Two large fans in the auditorium, used to circulate hot air back down to floor
level, have been upgraded and are fully operational. They now purify the air
passing through them, with virus-killing ultraviolet light. They actively
neutralise up to 99% of germs, bacteria and viruses, including Covid.

The use of these new units is additional to the existing Covid safety measures
such as regular fogging and mask wearing. Their use should make for a much
safer and more comfortable environment in the auditorium. The Corn
Exchange Front of House staff will be advising the audience to wear masks
and offering hand sanitiser.

Additionally, to ensure the safety of the cast and crew, two mobile hospital-
grade air purification units have been installed back-stage.  These units filter,
sterilise and recirculate the air through the use of HEPA filters and ultra-violet
light.

In the run up to the opening night on Friday 14th January we will be working
hard to wire up the orchestra pit and finalise the set, sound and lighting rig to
ensure that the audience enjoy the kind of high quality, traditional
pantomime they have come to expect from the Sinodun Players at The Corn
Exchange.

With so many other pantomimes having been cancelled or curtailed, the
Sinodun Players are doing everything possible to ensure that the show will go
on. The matinee performances have sold out and many of our evening
performances have sold extremely well. There are tickets still available so
don’t miss out on something amazing and book your tickets now.

Tickets can be bought on line from: www.cornexchange.org.uk
